SXSW '08 Insider's Guide Member Ben Brown is 30 Years Old

Featured Member: Ben Brown, founder of Consumating.com, iwanttoseethat.com and Austin-NewYorkCity-SanFrancisco hipster is no longer lying when he tells people he's 30 years old. As early as 2002, Ben was lying to reporters at the Austin Chronicle claiming that he was much older than he actually was. Finally, today, Ben is 30.

When asked how he feels about this new experience on planet earth, Brown Tweeted "1783 LEGO bricks! Thanks Susan and Tim!"

As an early member of SXSW '08 Insider's Guide, Ben hopes to implement his new project (with girlfriend Katie Spence) I Want To See That to help us all see a few movies together at SXSW, while Corey (that's me) works hard at finding the best calendar application and creating a list of Most Skippable Panels and the movies we want to see. Prior to his SXSW '08 Insider's Guide fame, Ben (now 30 years old but then, only in his mid 20's) was (and still is) best known as the Internet Rockstar, founded Consumating.com (A Place For People Who Don't Suck) and was featured in IFC's documentary SXSW Behind The Badge in 2006.

Consumating was later purchased by CNET and none of us have logged in since. Somehow, even after not logging in for over a year, most of us who are Ben's friends are still in the top 500 at Consumating.com. We feel good about being geeks, and we have Ben to thank.
