Advice for Bands playing SXSW for the first time

Hi there,

We've been lucky enough to get an invite to play at the 09 festival.

Any advice for first-timers would be gratefully received?... particularly regarding the type of US visas that bands will require.

Permalink Reply by AL on February 17, 2009 at 4:48am: Polly, phone the US embassy today and book an emergency appointment for an entertainment visa, theyll guide you through the whole process. If you go out there without a visa you run the risk of getting sent straight home from where you land and getting banned from America!
