A few I know are fantastic live bands:

-Warm in the Wake (one of the best synth/organ/piano players I've ever seen!)

-My Morning Jacket

-Yo La Tengo (most of the time...)

-White Williams

daniel lanois - a great producer who has work with U2 , peter gabriel etc etc
dead confederate - their live shows have left buildings burnt
dirty on purpose

helio sequence - subpop
holy fuck - ripping
howlin rain - members of comets on fire - support san francisco music
joseph arthur - always an amazing show or art and music
kelly stoltz - subpop - support san francisco music
loquat - support san francisco music . kylee is very talented singer
lightspeed champion - NME artist of the month
mmj - one of the best bands on earth
okkervil river - top albums of the year on pitchfork
portugal the man - live shows are amazing -
russian circles - post rock at its best
sam champion
simian mobile disco - electro remix kings
soundtrack of our lives - brit rock great live show..with pete townsend kicks and all

If I can make a semi-shameless plug (I manage one of the acts on the bill)...

The Hotel Cafe night at The Parish on March 13 should be awesome -- last year Slash, Perry Farrell and a bunch of A-listers jumped up and jammed together unannounced...

Lots of the bands on the Hotel Cafe Tour will be playing (not sure exactly who just yet) but some of the artists on the tour include Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Dan Wilson, Cary Brothers, Meiko (who I manage), Joshua Radin and more...

Should be pretty great!

Yeah even with my press pass I couldn't get in to this show last year...but lucky me- this is LA on any given Tuesday night. A great show always!
